Enigin Update - Reducing Emissions Legislation Can Save You Money

Legislation to force organisations to become energy efficient may be unpopular, but in reality it can save the organisation a lot of money.

As a case in point the UK, like many countries, is implementing schemes to compel commerce, industry and even the public sector to become energy efficient and reduce carbon emissions.

The UK’s Environment Agency (EA) is urging firms to find out their responsibilities under the Carbon Reduction Commitment Energy Efficiency Scheme (CRC), if organisations do not comply they will face financial and other penalties.

This may sound heavy handed but in reality if the right measures are taken firms and organisations will actually save money.

Tony Grayling, EA head of climate change and sustainability, supports this view when he said the scheme would “save participants money in terms of lower energy bills".

"The analysis shows the investments needed to reduce carbon emissions more than pay for themselves in terms of energy bills within a relatively short period," he said.

Enigin in the UK can help all sectors affected by the legislation to not only meet the demands of the scheme but save money through real-time monitoring of energy use and the implementation of smart energy saving technology.
